Pretty glad this movie was made

That screen capture makes it look rather creepy. Granted, it is an incredibly creepy trailer but in an entirely different way than that picture suggests.

I woke this morning to find my new life had just begun. Part 1

This is a dress picked up at the Goodwill that in its original state just overwhelmed me. I always feel conflicted about altering things from their original state. As if I'm somehow desecrating it. In this case, I find it much more wearable and therefore quite justified.

I've been creeping round this town because well creeping's just my way

Recently, my trusty old Nikon took one too many falls at my hand and finally landed to her death. The loss left me feeling a bit blue but that was remedied with a few distracting projects. I've found that nothing promotes self-worth more than creating something with a tangible end-product. Here are a few things I've been working on to ward off those Mean Reds.

A bow pencil skirt made from some fabric I picked up at an estate sale about a year ago.

This is a dress I based on one I had as a little girl. That one was made of crayola fabric and was thus almost ten times cooler, but I quite like this one nevertheless. Fabric came from the same estate sale as the bow skirt's.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I've just googled Ireland in hopes of finding something inspiring about this gayest of holidays and discovered that there is an apparent shortage of shamrocks in Ireland this year. Something tells me that won't put much of a damper on any festivities. According to wikipedia, the source from which I've learned everything I know in life, some rivers are dyed green in honor of the day. Today I'm sporting my ridiculous sequined bow that I found in the dollar section of Target last week. I'm still mourning my decision to forgo the shimmery green bowler, but life goes on...

Learn to Forgive and Set Yourself Free

So, I've been getting near daily emails from an emotional health website for more than a year now. I don't know how I got signed up for such a newsletter, but I haven't yet unsubscribed because firstly the topics are sometimes interesting ('How to Journal Your Way to Health' anyone?), and secondly if some cyber force out there felt strongly enough that I might benefit from a daily emotional boost who am I to argue? Anyways, today's message is I think the most bizarre one yet: "Celebrities without makeup: Do they boost your self-esteem?"

On another note, I'm currently well into the second installment of the SciFi channels 'Tin Man' on Netflix. I'll admit that I was drawn to it almost purely due to my ongoing lady-crush on Zooey Deschanel (really, who doesn't love her?) but I expected it to be rather silly and have poor special effects and acting to match. Now the special effects are lacking to be sure and the story is definitely a bit assinine, but I am quite enjoying it overall. If anyone out there is viewing this besides me and my dog (and I'm beginning to doubt old Larry's ability to offer articulate opinions), have you seen this miniseries? If so, what did you think? In my experience, expectations are everything. My expectations were low, and thus I was more inclined to be pleasantly surprised.

I feel a change coming on. And the 4th part of the day is already gone.

My new year’s resolution was to start a blog. Here it is, 37 days into the New Year and I’m only just getting around to it. So goes my life. Why blog? Well, I like bandwagons as much as the next girl, so on I go. Besides, there is something gloriously self-indulgent about it that I find equally alluring and vile. Plus, the solitary nature of it appeals to my reclusive nature.

I only hope this doesn’t play out like previous resolutions to keep a diary which I rarely stick to and whose entries always embarrass me upon rereading. I’m not too concerned yet as thus far I am my only reader. So what’s the purpose of this blog? As yet to be determined. Stay tuned. Hello Blogging world. Good to know you.
